The Unrequited Love

Sometimes I feel this fire,

That in my heart ignited,

Is fueled by the passion

Of our hearts united.

Your beauty is exquisite

Your blue eyes, how they glow.

Your smile is the arrow

Shot from Cupid’s wicked bow.

The fire burns intensely,

Growing stronger everyday.

And thus, I must proclaim it

And let my fear be cast away

So I ask you one question,

Do you feel the way I do?

‘Cause I can no longer

Stop myself from loving you.

The Broken Heart

During the night,

In the dark,

Loneliness consumes me.

I sit quietly.

I imagine you

Holding me close

Caressing my face

Whispering to me

With soft breath

‘I love you’.

I smile back,

Holding your hand

I tell you,

“As do I.”

I know this

Is a dream.

I know this

Is not reality,

But still it

Tears at me,

Ripping a hole

Straight through me.
